I do have a personal library that is composed of, but not limited to, hundreds of books on fantasy, classics, contemporary, poetry, plays, literature for young adult and, did I mention, high fantasy? Most of them I have read from start to end, but a few I haven't even started reading yet. And since my shelves have been overflowing lately, I have given away more or less a hundred books to some of my friends and a study center. This is to give way to some new books that I would really love to read and of course so as not to horde books and let them gather dust through time.
Lately my urge to buy some new books for my collection has returned and this year is allotted for Young Adult novels, especially the old series that I have not completed yet. These are some of the books that I am most looking forward to buy in the coming months of this year.
Artemis Fowl: The Last Guardian by Eoin Colfer
Said to be the last book in the series, Artemis Fowl: The Last Guardian follows the adventures of the witty and multi-millionaire boy genius, Artemis Fowl, and his Faeri friends. A familiar villain in the person of Opal Koboi will be back to open a portal in the human world and release havoc on all realms. Many of Artemis's loved ones will be put to danger. Opal's plot includes the release of old Faeri warrior spirits that possessed the young master's little brothers. He must find a way to undo this and he has only until sundown to do so. This book will be released on July 10, 2012.
The Extraordinary Education of Nicholas Benedict by Trenton Lee Stewart
Being the prequel to the mind-boggling trilogy The Mysterious Benedict Society, this book revolves this time around on the young Benedict who will eventually lead to the foundation of the Society. This nine-year old orphaned boy has suffered so many problems including unfortunate nose, bullies, selfish adults, strange circumstances, life-changing mystery and narcolepsy, which gives him the worst of nightmares. His life changes when he was sent to a new orphanage and lucky for him he is a genius to cope with the drastic changes. Find this book on the bookstore nearest you starting April 10, 2012.
The Maelstrom by Henry H. Neff
This is penultimate book in the five-part The Tapestry series. Follow Max and Daniels as they prevent the coming of evil. With them lies the fate of Rowan. They are the only ones who could stop Prusia's war machine or else the world will perish should they fail. This puts everyone in danger, especially Max as someone has targeted her for the kill. Will they be able to eliminate this threat in time? Find out when the book is released sometime this year.
The Serpent's Shadow
This concludes the Kane Chronicles trilogy that focuses on Egyptian mythology. Cate and Sade Kane must have to face Apophis, the chaos snake, despite having defeated him already before. This time around he has a more sinister plan: to plunge the world into total darkness. The two must utilize every help that they could get, but the magicians from the House of Life seems to have a destructive affair of their own. The Kane's last chance to save the world may be an ancient spell that turns Aphophis's shadow into a weapon, but this magic has been lost for years. Complete the trilogy on May 1, 2012.
Hopefully I would be able to buy these books as addition to my library. If not, maybe some generous friends could buy them for me.
