At first, the moment the news was released, I really thought Man of Steel will be a direct sequel to Brian Singer's Superman Returns. But as developments to the movie arise online, it has become apparent that it will be a reboot. Six years from the release of the latest Superman movie and we already have a new rendition in our hands. Not even Spider-man (2002) could match that with a 10-year gap.
Directed by Zack Snyder, Man of Steel will be starring Henry Cavill to play the Kryptonian super hero, Superman, otherwise known as Clark Kent. It will be released exactly a year from now -- June 14, 2013 -- should its schedule be retained. And for a trivia, it is said that actor Henry Cavill, a Brit, was the only non-American to have ever filled the shoes of Superman.
Updated: Here are the three versions of the trailer for Man of Steel:
The first trailer is voiced over by Kevin Costner, who plays Clark Kent's human foster father. The second video features his biological father Jor-El played by Russell Crowe. On the other hand, the last trailer is a reversioning of the trailer with a John Williams musical score.

Do you think this reboot will be any better than Bryan Singer's Superman Returns, starring Brandon Routh? Zack Snyder was a little bit of a hit and miss with his previous movies -- talk about 300, Watchmen, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole and Sucker Punch. If the pattern is certainly as it is, I would have to say Man of Steel will be a hit -- his movies are exactly hit, miss, hit and miss based on the order of their release, so I assume the next one will be a hit.
