Almost two months after it's premiere, The Voice UK has finally given us its very first winner: Leanne Mitchell. June 2, 2012 was the big night for the very first series of The Voice UK. To help the fans decide who to vote for, the remaining artists performed three songs each: a solo number, a duet with their coaches, and their most favorite performance in the show so far.
Sir Tom Jones may have been laid back during the whole process, but it is also the on quiet one that we must put our guards on. Let the other Judges brawl and gather his strategies to beat them -- that's what maybe running in his mind during the whole duration of the show. Now, the other judges, assuming they will come back on the next series, are very cautious to let out all of their tricks.
Here is Leah Mitchell doing an interview after her triumphant victory:
Congratulations is maybe in place, because Leanne deserves the title of being UK's The Voice after all. I would have wanted Bo Bruce to win, but fate does not allow it to be so. By the way, Vince Kidd was eliminated instantly after gaining the lowest votes during the Final show... I am still happy with the result of the show and proud to say that I have at least watched every single episode of it -- seeing some of my favorites go, and also seeing some triumphs that made the show what it was.
For those of you who haven't seen Leanne Mitchell's performances, I took the liberty to post them here:
Solo Number
Leanne Mitchell performs It's A Man's Man's Man's World
Duet with Sir Tom Jones
Sir Tom Jones and Leanne Mitchell duet
Mama Told Me Not To Come
Favorite Song
Leanne Mitchell sings Run To You
The question after this is what will happen next? To the show... to Leanne? Hopefully all four of the judges will be back, together with hosts Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates, since I have grown a liking to them all. As for Leanne, hopefully a new album is on the way and she may find success on her career and endeavors... See you all on the next season.
