The second book of The Hunger Games trilogy, Catching Fire, movie adaptation is yet in pre-production, but the producers of the said movie are speeding up their plans already. Lionsgate, according to many sources, is going to split Mockingjay, the third book in the series, into two movies.
Yes, that's right. Many might say that this is for artistic reasons yet again, but I can assure you this is just a ploy to horde some more money for the said studio. Mockingjay is not even long enough to cover one movie and to split it into two movies would be otter money grabbing. This is plain non-sense! Movie makers now-a-days are trapping faithful audience to swallow all their fake "artistic" moves.
Further details revealed that the confirmed release dates for the remaining movies are all set. Catching Fire is set to be released on November 22, 2013. The first part of Mockingjay will be out on November 21, 2014 to be followed-up by the second part scheduled for a November 20, 2015 release. Lionsgate is certainly going to pay for this, while we pay for more cash.
Here are some more of the movies that were split into two:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
David Yates returned to direct this grand scaled finale to the Harry Potter series. There is justification for the split of the movie since the book is a giant masterpiece. One could simply not cram Deathly Hallows into a single movie. The result of the split was just fantastic. The director and the studio really lived up to their promise of 'artistic' reasons. No one can deny that this is way much better idea than to make this movie into one adaptation. Thankfully, J.K. Rowling consented to the idea and the Harry Potter fandom was satisfied with the result. Release Dates: November 18, 2010 for Part 1 and July 13, 2011 for Part 2.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn
Now there is already no wonder why Lionsgate decided to split Mockingjay into two movies. They already did it with Breaking Dawn. At first I was a little consenting over the split of the movie, but come the release of the first part and it was all disappointing. Where is the artistic endeavors that the studio are really pushing hard to create? The first movie wasn't even that 'meaty'. It was a tirade of a home made wedding video and a montage of overly stretched and boring scenes. I was thankful for the Wolf pack scenes, because they are entirely the redeeming factor of this movie, nothing more. Release Dates: November 18, 2011 for Part 1 and November 16, 2012 for Part 2.
The Hobbit
Another best decision that Peter Jackson and the team behind The Hobbit movie have made is to split the adaptation into two parts. The first one being the story of the journey based on the book and the second part being a bridge to the Lord of the Rings trilogy, getting some resource materials from Tolkein's other books. I am statisfied with this one, owing to the fact the the first movies that the team has collaborated with were among the best movies of all time. And through the advancement of technology, we can expect greater things from The Hobbit. Release Dates: December 14, 2012 for Part 1 and December 13, 2013 for Part 2.

Two movies for one book was way too much for Twilight and what it deserves. I hate to say it, but two movies to one book is too much for Mockingjay. Mockingjay in itself is the conclusion of the story, and personally I don't think it'd work if it was split in two. :'(
Exactly!
