Updated: On a last minute edit and ultimate reveal, here is the full trailer of Iron Man 3 that premiered on Apple a few minutes ago. Enjoy!
The third installment of Marvel's Iron Man series rocks the superhero fandom with the release of a multitude of materials to give way to its much-awaited release on May 3, 2013. Robert Downey, Jr. is back to play the multi-billionaire playboy and industrilist Tonay Stark, who created and dons the coveted power suit. Only this time Jon Favreau steps down the directorial seat to Shane Black, who was famous for the critically-acclaimed Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
Fans were on the loose trying to contain the excitement brought about by these new exciting stuff from the movie. First up is a teaser poster that reveals nothing much but the of prototype models and old suits that lined up against the wall of the familiar home laboratory of Stark:
Next are the teaser of the trailer (I didn't know that movie trailers, which are teasers on their own right, have teasers of their own), which features a brief glimpse of Pepper Potts trapped in some kind of danger, and Tony Stark wearing a newly designed Iron Man suit:
It was followed up by a much shorter trailer teaser, featuring a glimpse of Don Cheadle as James Rhodes, who was able to don the War Machine suit in the previous movie:
The third material and the penultimate exciting part of all is the reveal of the villain of the movie:
In the picture above is the much awaited real-life look of The Mandarin played by Ben Kingsley. The conflict of the story is mostly brought about by his character, who is a leader of a terrorist group and wields some magical rings that grant him inhuman powers. How the director will make that llok and feel realistic on the widescreen still have to be found out on the movie's release.
And lastly, official stills from the movie have been released online to showcase Tony Stark and Pepper Pots, and the demolished Stark Mansion. I don't really pity the mansion as it has suffered more severe re-decorations in the past caused by an after-party brawl and uncontrollable prototype technology testing.
And to close this excitement off, here is the official plot synopsis of Iron Man 3:
Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
PS: The synopsis didn't even mention the greatest villain that Iron Man will ever face, that is if we are to limit the timeline only in the movies.
Wooot-wooot!!! very excited for the movie... now that I think about it, I better re-watch the first 2 Iron Man movies... :D
