The follow-up to the most successful Marvel Superhero movie is on the move. And this time the production team are busy caging in a bunch of villains that threatens the world. It's a pity (or a pleasure really) they were not able to cage out some stealthy paparazzi, as we have here in our hands a few set pictures, featuring the fearsome Dark Elves.
Thor: The Dark World brings Thor back to Earth away from his beloved Asgard to face this lot. He may have been able to contain the flimsy effort of his adopted brother Loki to rule the world, but there's no telling what would happen if he'd be facing a race more ancient than he is. Shivers!
Don't be scared. Help is coming our way to defend us from the villainous Dark Elves:
Synopsis:
Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s Thor and Marvel’s The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
Alan Taylor took over Kenneth Branagh's directorial seat to oversee the movie based on the screenplay of Christopher Yost, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Chris Hemsworth is back to don the iconic and scaly-looking suit and cape, and to wield Mjölnir, the mythological hammer . The familiar human characters played by Stellan Skarsgård and Natalie Portman also grace the franchise for the second time.
Thor: The Dark World is scheduled for a November 8, 2013 international release.
