Just like what happened with the 2009 movie directed by Shane Acker entitled 9, The Nut Job is a movie that is based on a short movie that captured the attention of the many. Peter Lepeniotis, who directed the short original, Surly Squirrel, is back to helm the longer version to be released next year.
Aside from being director, Peter Lepeniotis also wrote the screenplay together with Lorne Cameron. It will star Liam Neeson as Racoon, Katherine Heigl as Andie, Brendan Fraser as Grayson and Will Arnett as Surly, along with many others who lent their voices to give life to the movie.

Synopsis
In animated 3D, The Nut Job is an action-packed comedy in fictional Oakton that follows the travails of Surly (voiced by Will Arnett), a mischievous squirrel, and his rat friend Buddy, who plan a nut store heist of outrageous proportions and unwittingly find themselves embroiled in a much more complicated and hilarious adventure.
The Nut Job will be released in cinemas on January 17, 2014.
