Outlander TV Series Offers First Look On Jamie Fraser And Claire Randall

Diana Gabaldon's Outlander is slowly taking shape and a new official still from its TV adaptation has just popped up to kick start our new year! Let's all thank executive producer Ronald D. Moore, since the adaptation will not come to light if not because of him.

Aside from Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, who will play the two lead characters, the cast also includes Liam Carney as Alec McMahon MacKenzie aka Old Alec, Tracey Wilkinson as Mrs. Graham, Kathryn Howden as Mrs. Baird, and Aislin McGuckin as Letitia MacKenzie.

Here is the first look on Jamie and Claire, played by Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, from the Outlander TV series.

Synopsis

Starz and Sony Pictures Television are partnering to create Outlander, an original series adapted from Diana Gabaldon’s bestselling books. Outlander follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited that tears Claire’s heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives. Outlander spans the genres of romance, science fiction, history, and adventure into one epic tale.

Outlander will premiere with its pilot episode sometime in 2014.
