Movie adaptation has become the leading and ruling trend of movie making! What happened to movies with original screenplays -- it seems that year after year they are getting fewer and fewer. We can't blame adaptation for that, because in the first lace the original source material already has a following of its own, movie studios only need to create some spark and noise to multiply that number. Less work for them, but more money to come -- only if they did their homework right.
Such example of movie adaptation that will follow the steps of Ender's Game is The Giver, which is based on Lois Lowry's bestseller dystopian tale. The movie will star Jeff Bridges, Brenton Thwaites, Meryl Streep, Odeya Rush, Katie Holmes, Alexander Skarsgård, Cameron Monaghan, Emma Tremblay, and don't forget Taylor Swift. It is directed by Phillip Noyce, based on the screenplay written by Michael Mitnick.
Watch with anticipation the new trailer of The Giver.
