It's quite a sad tale when Disney Pixar has taken a year off from their almost annual live presentation offering after their latest, Monsters University. Maybe the team needed a refresher to up their games, but other animation studios are taking advantage, such as Dreamworks, releasing an almost record-breaking 3 movies a year.
Happily next year the former studio will release their newest feature film called Inside Out. It's being directed by Pete Docter, together with Ronnie del Carmen. This Jonas Riveras-produced movie stars Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, Lewis Black, Mindy Kaling and Phyllis Smith. We can almost certainly expect John Ratzenberger's voice to pop-up sometime in this movie, as he always did in all previous Pixar films.
Synopsis
From the tepuis of South America to a monster-filled metropolis, Academy Award®-winning director Pete Docter has taken audiences to unique and imaginative places. In 2015, he will take us to the most extraordinary location of all - inside the mind of an 11-year-old named Riley.
Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.
Disney Pixar's Inside Out reveals what's inside our head, coming out to theaters on June 19, 2015.
