Author Brandon Sanderson Unveils Line-up Of Future Projects And What To Expect From Him

I am eagerly waiting for the release of Firefight, the second book in The Reckoners series by Brandon Sanderson. Come January 6, 2015 and the wait will be almost over, because I still have to wait a few more days for the delivery time... Just imagine my excitement right now.

Multiply that excitement a hundred fold when I heard directly from the author about his future plans and projects. A couple of days back, this now favorite author has unleashed to the world not only one, not two, not three, but a gazillion projects that he has been working on. He such a prolific writers, that could shame both Patrick Rothfuss and George R. R. Martin for letting their fans wait for years for their next book.

If you are as excited as I am with Brandon Sanderson, then git a full load of these gems that we will be expecting from him.

Firefight by Brandon Sanderson

Firefight

The one book that I mentioned above, to be released next year. As mentioned also, this is the second book in The Reckoners series, featuring David, who killed the High Epic Steelheart in the previous book. Don't forget the next book in the series, called Calamity, which the auhor has already started working with.

Legion: Skin Deep

Another sequel that fans have been waiting for... This limited release, courtesy of Subterranean Press, brings back Stephen Leeds aka Legion. Legion has a mental capacity to create aspects ("hallucinatory entities with a wide variety of personal characteristics and a vast array of highly specialized skills"). It is this ability that makes the story very interesting read.

Alcatraz

After about 6 six years, Brandon Sanderson returns to this sarcastic, funny and revealing stories that you would almost believe it is he that speaks directly to his readers.

Mistborn

I am also awaiting for Shadows of Self in the second cycle of the Mistborn series. And to hear that I will not be only expecting one book if this series, but at least two more gives me a boost to finish the original trilogy already.

After Shadows of Self, which will be released in October 2015, Bands of Mourning will be released on January 2016 to be followed by The Lost Metal.

Future Projects

Brandon Sanderson has still more tucked under his sleeves. First is the sequel to his debut novel, Elantris. Nightblood will also be coming as a sequel to Warbreaker. Dark One is a new series that will feature the villain as the main character. We've read so much about a hero vanquishing a Dark Lord, so it's maybe high time we read something in the perspective of this misunderstood characters. Some of his other upcoming projects include Silence Divine, Legion 3, Adamant, White Sand graphic Novels, and Dragonsteel. You can read more about them in here.

Choose Your Favorite: The Hottest Hunters on TV Today

Hunter
Hunting is a big pastime in America—according to the group that puts on National Hunting and Fishing Day, more than 38 million Americans hunt and fish, collectively spending 228 million days a year in the pursuit of their pastime. So it's no surprise that television is full of fictional hunters who capture the imagination. The hunter as an archetype is ingrained in the fabric of American myth and culture, and here is a look at some of the hottest hunters on television today:

Daryl Dixon

Daryl is one of the main characters of AMC's “The Walking Dead,” a survivor of the zombie apocalypse and master hunter. As an expert in tracking, navigation, and hunting, Daryl has earned the respect of his fellow survivors and has become an important member of the main group. Deadly with his Horton Scout HD 125 crossbow, Daryl is also dangerously skilled with a wide variety of firearms. Daryl grew up in the mountains of northern Georgia, where he developed the skills that have helped him to survive the end-times. If you are interested in refining your skills in the environment that honed Daryl, consider getting a hunter's license and heading to the forests of Georgia. There you can practice your tracking skills without worrying about stumbling upon the walking dead.

John Constantine

The titular character of NBC's “Constantine,” John Constantine is a working class detective, magician, con artist and monster hunter. Snarky, cynical and cunning, John is driven by the desire to do something meaningful with his life as well as the adrenaline rush that he can only find dealing with the strange and supernatural. Played in the show by Welsh actor Matt Ryan, John Constantine was originally the main character of the DC Vertigo comic series “Hellblazer” and “Constantine,” as well as the “Constantine” film from 2005.
Though a talented sorcerer, Constantine relies mostly on his quick thinking, skill at manipulation and vast web of contacts to track down supernatural threats to mankind. Though the television show is still in its infancy, having only debuted in October of this year, you can be sure to see Constantine use his skills with weaponry, thaumaturgy, sigils and even time travel to hunt the forces of darkness wherever they may hide.

Sam & Dean Winchester

The Winchesters are monster hunters in the television drama “Supernatural,” where they work together to slay every monster that stalks the shadows. Raised and taught to hunt by their father John after the death of their mother at the hands of a demon, Sam and Dean spent years searching for their father and the creature that killed their mother. Determined to continue the crusade against darkness started by their father, both brothers bring various skills to the hunt.
Dean is resourceful and skilled in the use of firearms, and Sam is intelligent and well versed in many pseudo-legal activities. Whereas Dean is the fighter of the pair, Sam is the academic. Both have also developed supernatural powers in the course of their journey, making them even more dangerous hunters of the things that go bump-in-the-night. As hunters go, Sam and Dean are a killer pair, which is lucky — their prey is the deadliest imaginable.

J.K. Rowling To Release 'Very Good Lives: The Fringe Benefits of Failure and the Importance of Imagination'

The very first time I watched J.K. Rowling's Harvard University Commencement Speech I was cackling time and time again. She delivered it in front of many officials, "members of the Harvard Corporations and Board of Overseers, members of the faculty, proud parents and, above all, graduates" last June 5, 2008. It was only until September 15, 2011 that Harvard Magazine released the video of said speech on their Youtube channel.

Next year this same speech will be published into a booklet, courtesy of Little, Brown, Rowling's publisher for her adult novels. It is called Very Good Lives: The Fringe Benefits of Failure and the Importance of Imagination. This 80-page words of wisdom (or antics) will feature illustrations by Joel Holland.

Here is the cover and synopsis of Very Good Lives: The Fringe Benefits of Failure and the Importance of Imagination by J.K. Rowling.

Anthony Ryan's A Raven's Shadow Book 3: Queen Of Fire Gets A Cover And Official Synopsis

My first encounter with the name Anthony Ryan happened a few years ago when I was scanning for books from A to Z and surfing on the website of one of my favorite bookstores. I was looking for new authors that would interest me and lo I found Blood Song, which is the first book of the said author. The novel was an instant favorite of mine and so same is true with the author.

Some months after, the same author published Tower Lord, but still I haven't had a chance to get a copy yet. I browsed for some review and it was quite troubling because many find it not at par with its predecessor... So came the doubt if I should continue with the series... and then I decided I would. Now the third book in this planned trilogy has been revealed as well and it is called Queen of Fire.

Herein you can see the official cover and synopsis of Queen of Fire by Anthony Ryan.

Queen of Fire by Anthony Ryan

Upon seeing these updates my enthusiasm has returned. So I decided that I will buy both the second and this final book together come July next year.

And here is the author showing off the manuscript of the book:

Synopsis

In the thrilling conclusion to the “deftly and originally executed” (Booklist) New York Times bestselling trilogy, Vaelin Al Sorna must help his Queen reclaim her Realm. Only his enemy has a dangerous new collaborator, one with powers darker than Vaelin has ever encountered...

“The Ally is there, but only ever as a shadow, unexplained catastrophe or murder committed at the behest of a dark vengeful spirit. Sorting truth from myth is often a fruitless task.”

After fighting back from the brink of death, Queen Lyrna is determined to repel the invading Volarian army and regain the independence of the Unified Realm. Except, to accomplish her goals, she must do more than rally her loyal supporters. She must align herself with forces she once found repugnant — those who possess the strange and varied gifts of the Dark — and take the war to her enemy’s doorstep.

Victory rests on the shoulders of Vaelin Al Sorna, now named Battle Lord of the Realm. However, his path is riddled with difficulties. For the Volarian enemy has a new weapon on their side, one that Vaelin must destroy if the Realm is to prevail — a mysterious Ally with the ability to grant unnaturally long life to her servants. And defeating one who cannot be killed is a nearly impossible feat, especially when Vaelin’s blood-song, the mystical power which has made him the epic fighter he is, has gone ominously silent...

Queen of Fire by Anthony Ryan will hit bookstores on July 7, 2015.

Heart Beats & Flutters Once Again For 'No Good In Goodbye' Music Video By The Script

I know I am already late to deliver this one, but then again I am still so excited to share this new music video from The Script. It is because it features one of my favorite songs from the band's No Sound Without Silence album.

The wordplay in the lyrics, which is usual for this band, has bought me from start to end. Add a very heart-wrenching theme and topic and I am all hands down. And of course don;t forget the rhythm, the tune and the usual serving of "strange" musicality. "Strange" sounds -- the very reason why I loved this band even before they became mainstream (having a relative in Ireland helps, even I am from the Philippines) -- because returned to their homeland genre, which is very far away from the generic pop music.

And so when the new music video of the said song arrived, I was reborn once again and must fading heart started to beat it usual rhythm: dud-a-dubb, dud-a-dubb, dud-a-dubb...

Watch the new music video of No Good in Goodbye by The Script.

We all know that No Good in Goodbye is the first track in the No Sound Without Silence album -- the band's fourth -- by The Script. This 5-minute auditory bliss was written by Danny O'Donoghue (lead singer), Mark Sheehan (vocalist and guitarist), James Barry (one of the album's producer).

The band returns to their usual montage of staged "gig" moments with all the band members and gears present. It is interspersed by radiant light works or Cosmo effects, which we first gleaned on the No Sound Without Silence album cover, and some human add-ons and the singer's love-interest, that help represent each of us.

Go ahead and find the wordplays that make this song worthwhile for the ears and the brain... and so for the heart, too:

No Good in Goodbye by The Script

All the things that we've have lost
breaking up comes at a cost
I know I'll miss this mistake

Every word I try to choose
either way I'm gonna lose
can't take the ache from heartbreak

But as you walk away
you don’t hear me say

Where's the good in goodbye?
Where's the nice in nice try?
Where's the us in trust gone?
Where's the soul in soldier on?
Now I'm the low in lonely
cos I don't own you only
I can take this mistake
but I can't take the ache from heartbreak
No I can't take the ache from heartbreak

No matter how it falls apart
there's an art in breaking hearts
but there is no fair in farewell

And when I see you in the street
I pray to god you don't see
the silent hell in I wish you well

But as you walk away
you don’t hear me say

Where's the good in goodbye?
Where's the nice in nice try?
Where's the us in trust gone?
Where's the soul in soldier on?
Now I'm the low in lonely
cos I don't own you only
I can take this mistake
but I can't take the ache from heartbreak
(take the ache, take the ache)
I can't take the ache from heartbreak
(take the ache, take the ache)
I can't take the ache from heartbreak
(take the ache, take the ache)
No I can't take the ache from heartbreak
(take the ache, take the ache)
(can't take the ache from heartbreak)

If I could turn back time
then I would rewrite those lines

If I could turn back time
then I would rewrite those lines

If I could turn back time
I would rewrite those lines

If I could turn back time
I would rewrite those lines, lines, lines

Where's the good in goodbye?
Where's the nice in nice try?
Where's the us in trust gone?
Where's the soul in soldier on?
Now I'm the low in lonely
cos I don't own you only
I can take this mistake
but I can't take the ache from heartbreak
(take the ache, take the ache)
I can't take the ache from heartbreak
(take the ache, take the ache)
I can't take the ache from heartbreak
(take the ache, take the ache)
No I can't take the ache from heartbreak
(take the ache, take the ache)
(can't take the ache from heartbreak)

If I could turn back time
then I would rewrite those lines

What do you think will come next from The Script?

Dreams Come True And Dinosaurs Roam Around Freely In 'Jurassic World' Full Trailer

The next and fourth movie in the Jurassic Park franchise is all about dream coming true. That is of course related to John Hammond's dream of bringing back the dinosaurs in the present period, and preferably remain in a theme park where no one will be hurt. Walt Disney Pictures Releases Official Cinderella Full Trailer

I know you'll say, "we've seen it all before, and from the same production studio for that matter..." I agree with you, but wouldn't it be nice to compare the animated version and the live-action treatment of the classic tale of Cinderella? This movie will give us that chance and finally prove if Disney is only rehashing stories for the lack of goo new ones thereof.

Only one thing I could add though, is that this is the time the studio could explore other avenues from this already worn-out story. Things we might have not seen from the animated movie, that may be considered too cool for the younger audiences. And we get to enjoy contemporary actors for this one as well.

Walt Disney's Cinderella

Director Kenneth Branagh (Thor) returns to the world of the royalties and put together a tantalizing cast for Cinderella live action movie, including Cate Blanchett, Lily James, Richard Madden, Stellan Skarsgård, Holliday Grainger, Sophie McShera, Derek Jacobi, and Helena Bonham-Carter.

Watch the official trailer of Cinderella live-action movie.

Synopsis

The story of Cinderella follows the fortunes of young Ella whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new stepmother and her daughters Anastasia and Drisella into the family home. But, when Ella's father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family. Finally relegated to nothing more than a servant girl covered in ashes, and spitefully renamed Cinderella, Ella could easily begin to lose hope. Yet, despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, Ella is determined to honor her mother's dying words and to "have courage and be kind." She will not give in to despair nor despise those who mistreat her. And then there is the dashing stranger she meets in the woods. Unaware that he is really a prince, not merely an apprentice at the Palace, Ella finally feels she has met a kindred soul. It appears her fortunes may be about to change when the Palace sends out an open invitation for all maidens to attend a ball, raising Ella's hopes of once again encountering the charming Kit (Richard Madden). Alas, her stepmother forbids her to attend and callously rips apart her dress. But, as in all good fairy tales, help is at hand, and a kindly beggar woman steps forward and -- armed with a pumpkin and a few mice -- changes Cinderella's life forever.

Relive the story of Cinderella in theatres on March 13, 2015.

Pan Brings Forth Trailer And Four Character Posters, Featuring A Bald Hugh Jackman As Blackbeard And More

There are a great deal of dark and gritty movie interpretations of classic and contemporary tales right now. There is no wonder why this is the case, because these movies have proven to be a hit among movie viewers, albeit for international audience. One such upcoming movie is Pan, which I think would likewise follow the trend of hit movies.

Pan is directed by Joe Wright, who is best known for his period movies, such as Pride & Prejudice, Atonement, Anna Karenina and more. The film stars Hugh Jackman, Garrett Hedlund, Levi Miller, Rooney Mara, and Amanda Seyfried. Jason Fuchs has written the screenplay, based on the classic Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie.

Taylor Swift Looks Like A Glamorous Playgirl In 'Blank Space' Music Video

It is common knowledge that Taylor Swift has been incorporating or lambasting her exes on her songs. Many of her fans and detractors are making some statements about this. So Taylor Swift speaks out about this matter, yet again, in the form of a song...

In the song Blank Space, Taylor Swift had an all out confession how she felt about it, which of course you can read along the lines through the lyrics. To give you more perspective into this she released a music video that portrayed her as an almost villainous player...

Watch the new music video of Blank Space by Taylor Swift.

Blank Space is the second track of Taylor's fifth studio album called 1989. It was released as the second single from this lot last November 10, 2014 -- that is of course together with the music video when it was supposedly "leaked".

The music video was directed by Joseph Kahn and features Sean O'Pry as the signer's love interest. Taylor plays the almost villain in this one and of course gives reference to her numerous ex-boyfriends. Shot in Long Island the video takes inspiration from Steven Spielberg's early works and partly by the dystopian film, A Clockwork Orange. The director also added that "there’s a lot of symmetrical framing that’s Kubrickian, which is a really funny way to approach a pop video. But it’s there if you look at the way there’s center-framing and symmetry throughout the whole thing..."

What's next for Taylor Swift after this? What do you think is here next single?

Check Out The Initial Cover Of 'The Liar's Key' By Mark Lawrence (The Red Queen's War Book 2)

The rough draft of the cover art for The Liar's Key by Mark Lawrence has been released. After the deviating covers of the first book, Prince of Fools, both the UK and US publishers decided to have a unified art again, just like with Mark Lawrence's Broken Empire trilogy.

Once again, artist Jason Chan will do the cover art of The Liar's Key, with a few variations depending on the demographics of the publisher's readers. UK readers prefer faceless characters on the covers, which is of course the opposite for the US readers.

FYI: The art cover of the first book was done by Chris McGrath for US and Jason Chan for UK editions.

Synopsis

Prince of Fools, The Red Queen’s War: Book One had all “the hallmarks of [Mark Lawrence’s] storytelling and writing style which made The Broken Empire trilogy such an incredibly addictive read” (Bibliosanctum.com). Now, The Liar’s Key continues the story of the unusual fellowship between a rogue prince and a weary warrior…

After harrowing adventure and near-death, Prince Jalan Kendeth and the Viking Snorri ver Snagason find themselves in possession of Loki’s Key, an artefact capable of opening any door, and sought by the most dangerous beings in the Broken Empire—including The Dead King.

Jal wants only to return home to his wine, women, and song, but Snorri has his own purpose for the key: to find the very door into death, throw it wide, and bring his family back into the land of the living.

And as Snorri prepares for his quest to find death’s door, Jal’s grandmother, the Red Queen continues to manipulate kings and pawns towards an endgame of her own design…

The Liar's Key (The Red Queen's War Book 2) by Mark Lawrence will be released on June 2, 2015.

E.L. James' Fifty Shades Of Grey Gets A Delicious Cover In New Movie Tie-In Edition

Despite it's simplistic original cover, Fifty Shades of Grey already scooped a lot of readers -- the readers are not in for the cover, but for the juicy story. How much more when the main characters have been given faces, and not just any faces, but with Hollywood touch.

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, get steamy in the new movie tie-in edition cover of this E.L. James' publication (no offense, but I am not associating with with "literary") phenomenon. Will they be able to increase the sales of this already hit book?
