The Maze Runner series is getting a new prequel, and a sequel to the previously hit The Kill Order. The success of the movie just proved that old and new fans alike are ready to dive in for more adventures (or misadventures) awaiting Thomas and Teresa.
And to confirm, James Dashner just finished writing The Fever Code. He is still a long way before the polished version of the novel, but at least we already got the early drafts to fill in the void of waiting for the said book, despite not being able to read it. I am reassured...
I just wrote the last sentence of #TheFeverCode, direct prequel to #TheMazeRunner. It made me choke up.

James Dashner was also quoted: "From the very beginning, I’ve always wanted to write a prequel about Thomas, Teresa, Newt, Minho, Alby and all the Gladers that leads up to the very moment Thomas enters the Box. There are so many things hinted at that will be fun to reveal in depth. For years, fans have made it abundantly and enthusiastically clear that they want the same thing, so now seems like the perfect time to give readers the story of how the Maze began."
Here is a fan-made cover I did for The Fever Code by James Dashner.
Synopsis
... the novel will explore the creation of the Maze, and how the Gladers all got there. After all, Thomas, Teresa and their fellow Glade-dwellers didn’t choose to jump into that freight elevator and forget their pasts. Or did they?
The Fever Code by James Dashner will be released sometime in 2016. Do come back for more details and information about the upcoming book.
