A while ago, to quench and purge me of my waiting anxiety, I created some fan-made covers for The Legion of Flame, the second book in Anthony Ryan's dragon-plagued second franchise, The Draconis Memoria. I pictured it was red, owing to the pattern for primary color-schemed trilogies. But the official cover, which was released just now, blew me away!
I praise the art department of Ace and Roc that made the cover better than I expected. I am always delighted to find the publisher's art department step up and surpass their previous works. I mentioned somewhere that I am a sucker for OCD inducing designs and I am inexplicably easily drawn by color blue!

Rogue Blood-blessed Claydon Torcreek, Syndicate agent Lizanne Lethridge, and ironship captain Corrick Hilemore embark upon perilous quests to chase down clues that offer faint hopes of salvation. As the world burns around them, and the fires of revolution are ignited, these few are the last hope for the empire, and all of civilization.
The Legion of Flame by Anthony Ryan will be released on June 27, 2017.

The studio has released a new trailer of one of their next outing, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, filled with epic action, thrilling and mysterious storyline, heavy-duty cast and Led Zeppelin’s Babe I’m Gonna Leave You. Cover Reveal: An Echo Of Things To Come (The Licanius Trilogy Book 2) By James Islington
One of my recent book haul is The Shadow of What Was Lost by James Islington. I haven't started reading it yet. I was easily convinced to buy it because of the quote at the back of the book: "Love The Wheel of Time? This is about to become your new favorite series." - B&N SF & Fantasy Blog. I love Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series so it is a no-brainer decision if the blurb is to be relied upon.
I was glad to hear that this book is the first of a trilogy called The Licanius Trilogy. And I was even more excited that I have pre-ordered the second book in the series called An Echo of Things to Come. Just recently the official cover of the sequel has been unveiled. Thanks to Dominick Saponaro for this simplistic illustration and Lauren Panepinto for the continuity-inducing jacket design.
Check the official cover of An Echo of Things to Come by James Islington.
Synopsis
The second book in a glorious new fantasy trilogy by the next major force in commercial epic fantasy.
In the wake of the devastating attack on Ilin Illan, an amnesty has been declared for all Augurs - finally allowing them to emerge from hiding and openly oppose the dark forces massing against Andarra. However as Davian and his new allies hurry north toward the ever-weakening Boundary, fresh horrors along their path suggest that their reprieve may have come far too late.
In the capital, Wirr is forced to contend with assassins and an increasingly hostile Administration as he controversially assumes the mantle of Northwarden, uncovering a mystery that draws into question everything commonly believed about the rebellion his father led twenty years ago. Meanwhile, Asha begins a secret investigation into the disappearance of the Shadows, determined to discover not only where they went but the origin of the Vessels that created them - and, ultimately, a cure.
And with time against him as he races to fulfill the treacherous bargain with the Lyth, Caeden continues to wrestle with the impossibly heavy burdens of his past. Yet as more and more of his memories return, he begins to realise that the motivations of the two sides in this ancient war may not be as clear-cut as they first seemed...
An Echo of Things to Come by James Islington will be released on August 22, 2017.

Brandon Mull's Final 'Five Kingdoms' Book Gets A Flashy New Cover, And Official Title And Release Date
After a long hiatus due to conflicts with the publications of Dragonwatch and this book, the final book in the Five Kingdoms series by Brandon Mull is finally coming to an end. From the beginning we already know that this is a five-book series, despite the typo that the author made on his note at the very first book in the series.
Five Kingdoms, all encompassed in five books, will conclude with Time Jumpers. I bet this will play a great part on how Cole and his friends will ever get back to our dimension (or if they ever wanted to at the end of the story). The cover has just been released as well as a teasing synopsis.
Check out the cover of Time Jumpers (Five Kingdoms # 5) by Brandon Mull.
Synopsis
Trapped in a world where magic is powerful and dreams are real, Cole’s epic adventure comes to a close in book five of the New York Times bestselling “fanciful, action-packed adventure” series (Publishers Weekly, starred review), from the author of the Fablehaven and Beyonders series.
Cole and his friends are pushed to the limit in this finale to the bestselling Five Kingdoms series.
Will they finally be able to restore magic to the world of the Outskirts and find their way back home?
Time Jumpers by Brandon Mull will be released on October 24, 2017.

Paramount Pictures Unleashes 'Ghost In The Shell' Full-Length Theatrical Trailer, Starring Scarlett Johansson
Movie adaptation of anime and manga have a hit-or-miss business of the recent years. That is why the skepticism and anxiety does not got when I hear some of my favorites will have to go through this process. What if it will become another unsavory rip-off? But of course, one is still hoping that it will turn out very good.
One such project is the Hollywood adaptation of Ghost in the Shell. This Rupert Sanders-directed movie stars Scarlett Johansson, Pilou Asbaek, Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche, Michael Pitt. A new trailer has just been released and somehow it still left me undecided.
Checkout the new full -length trailer of Ghost in the Shell.

Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic's advancements in cyber technology.

Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Gets New Movie Poster And Trailer
The fifth franchise of Pirates of the Caribbean is coming our way and who wouldn't be excited about it. This is the longest we have to wait after the last movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, hit cinemas in 2011. Don't be surprised if the stories have become disjointed since the fourth movie. What can you expect from sequels that have no direct connection from the original trilogy and may have been loosely based on a pirate novel set in an entirely different world.
This Joachim Rønning- and Espen Sandberg-directed movie stars Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem, Brenton Thwaites, Kaya Scodelario, and Geoffrey Rush. And based from the trailer Orlando Bloom is back and I wouldn't be surprised if some of our favorite characters from the past will have some cameos as well.
Check out the poster of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Watch the movie's new trailer below.
Synopsis
Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic, swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow in the all-new “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.” The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil's Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea—notably Jack. Jack's only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifully small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has ever faced.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Taleswill hit cinemas on May 26, 2017.

Cover Reveal: 'The Witchwood Crown' (The Last King of Osten Ard Book 1) By Tad Williams
My copy of The Heart of What Was Lost, the bridge between Tad Williams' Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn and The Last King of Osten Ard series, is still halfway around the world. I've been eagerly waiting for it since I pre-ordered it. MY excitement just multiplied numerous times when the first book of The Last King of Osten Ard, called The Witchwood Crown, is also coming at hand. No there are many that I could look forward to.
The said book will be released this year and the cover art has just been unveiled. Once again it features an art by Michael Whelan. But the sword that I was expecting to see (the pattern of the original series' redesigned covers as well as the bridge novel) is replaced by Hjeldin’s Tower.
Check out the cover of The Witchwood Crown by Tad Williams.
Head over to Tor.com for more information.
Synopsis
The Dragonbone Chair, the first volume of Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, was published in hardcover in October, 1988, launching the series that was to become one of the seminal works of modern epic fantasy. Many of today’s top-selling fantasy authors, from Patrick Rothfuss to George R. R. Martin to Christopher Paolini credit Tad with being the inspiration for their own series.
Now, twenty-four years after the conclusion of Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, Tad returns to his beloved universe and characters with The Witchwood Crown, the first novel in the long-awaited sequel trilogy, The Last King of Osten Ard.
Thirty years have passed since the events of the earlier novels, and the world has reached a critical turning point once again. The realm is threatened by divisive forces, even as old allies are lost, and others are lured down darker paths. Perhaps most terrifying of all, the Norns—the long-vanquished elvish foe—are stirring once again, preparing to reclaim the mortal-ruled lands that once were theirs….
The Witchwood Crown by Tad Williams will be released on June 27, 2017. I already pre-ordered mine.
