Official Cover Of 'Turtles All the Way Down' by John Green Features No Turtles At All

It would seem that August is indeed the cover revelation month. Left and right from every genre new covers are unveiled to boost the anticipation of each of their respective release dates. One of these cover reveals just happened for John Green's Turtles All the Way Down. But if you are hoping to find the titular reptiles in the cover, you'll just be disappointed.

But the thing is you don't have to see those turtles in the cover to appreciate its beauty. In a way they are represented by a spiral. Or maybe  the spiral could be a string of genetic material as well. We'll never know and that is its own beauty as it keeps us guessing until we finally read the book. Or maybe we do, from the blurb comes this line: "ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts...," but we'll see. Thank Rodrigo Corral, the artist and designer behind this cover and who did the cover for The Fault in Our Stars as well!

Time and again I would share about my OCD and OCPD tendencies and this book tackles about the first one. If John Green felt it was deeply personal writing it, then reading would be the same in my case. Read on for the synopsis below to know more about the story.

Official Cover Of Bradley P. Beaulieu's 'A Veil Of Spears' (The Song Of The Shattered Sands #3) Revealed

I was just talking about the cover reveal of Grey Sister by Mark Lawrence and--oh boy--when good things rain, they do pour a lot. Here I am, still enraptured by this stoked feeling and still overflowing with excitement, when the cover and synopsis for A Veil of Spears by Bradley P. Beaulieu is also unveiled. The said book is the third in The Song of the Shattered Sands series (and be prepared for books 4, 5, and 6 as well).

This time seems to be a high time for publishing revelations! The synopsis has been posted earlier in some seller sites, but I am adding it below if you haven't read it yet... I am just wowed because I preordered these two books together (along with Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff). Is it just coincidence or what?

This cover bursting with bright color somehow abated my dismay for the transition of designs between the first and second book. DAW has been known to do that to me and it is hurting my OCD. But if you would like to see the process on how this cover was made, you can read about it here. We should all thank Donato Giancola for this mouth-watering cover.

A Veil of Spears by Bradley P. Beaulieu

Synopsis

The third book in The Song of Shattered Sands series--an epic fantasy with a desert setting, filled with rich worldbuilding and pulse-pounding action.

Since the Night of Endless Swords, a bloody battle the Kings of Sharakhai narrowly won, the kings have been hounding the rebels known as the Moonless Host. Many have been forced to flee the city, including Çeda, who discovers that the King of Sloth is raising his army to challenge the other kings' rule.

When Çeda finds the remaining members of the Moonless Host, now known as the thirteenth tribe, she sees a tenuous existence. Çeda hatches a plan to return to Sharakhai and free the asirim, the kings' powerful, immortal slaves. The kings, however, have sent their greatest tactician, the King of Swords, to bring Çeda to justice for her crimes.

But the once-unified front of the kings is crumbling. The surviving kings vie quietly against one another, maneuvering for control over Sharakhai. Çeda hopes to use that to her advantage, but whom to trust? Any of them might betray her.

As Çeda works to lift the shackles from the asirim and save the thirteenth tribe, the kings of Sharakhai, the scheming queen of Qaimir, the ruthless blood mage, Hamzakiir, and King of Swords all prepare for a grand clash that may decide the fate of all.

A Veil of Spears by Bradley P. Beaulieu will be released on March 20, 2018.

#CoverReveal Second Book Of The Ancestor: 'Grey Sister' By Mark Lawrence (US Edition)

A few days ago, I found the Amazon US listing for Mark Lawrence's Grey Sister, the second Book of the Ancestor. As a good and obedient fan of Mark Lawrence it is a no-brainer that I preorder the said much-awaited sequel... and so I did with great joy.

One thing I noticed by that time is that it does not have a cover yet. We do get an icy placeholder cover with title and author typeset consistent to the first book. Now I am ecstatic because I just found out the official cover of Grey Sister has been unveiled, plus its exciting synopsis.

The art is once again crafted by Bastien Lecouffe-Deharme, as commissioned by ACE publishing house. The cover was designed by Judith Lagerman, who also designed the previous book in the series. This cover is miles far better than I expected and kudos to the team behind this fantastic visuals. If I were Mark Lawrence, I would be very proud.

And if you are into uniformity and structure, look how good it will look with the first book's cover!

Red Sister by Mark Lawrence

Synopsis

In Mystic Class Nona Grey begins to learn the secrets of the universe. But so often even the deepest truths just make our choices harder. Before she leaves the Convent of Sweet Mercy Nona must choose her path and take the red of a Martial Sister, the grey of a Sister of Discretion, the blue of a Mystic Sister or the simple black of a Bride of the Ancestor and a life of prayer and service.

All that stands between her and these choices are the pride of a thwarted assassin, the ambition of a would-be empress wielding the Inquisition like a blade, and the vengeance of the empire’s richest lord.

As the world narrows around her, and her enemies attack her through the system she has sworn to, Nona must find her own path despite the competing pull of friendship, revenge, ambition, and loyalty.

And in all this only one thing is certain.

There will be blood.

Grey Sister (US Edition) by Mark Lawrence will be released on April 3, 2018.

Title And Synopsis Of The New Legal Thriller By John Grisham Revealed: 'The Rooster Bar'

Here it is finally! The 31st novel for adults (or the 25th legal thriller for adults -- obviously the Theodore Boone series in not included here) by John Grisham has finally been unveiled. Its predecessor, Camino Island, left me wanting more and this new book will hopefully help fill in that void.

I have pre-ordered both books months ago, so I am happy to see that we have some details regarding the book already: including the official cover and the synopsis. October won't be a bore because of this (along with other numerous book releases during that book-flood season) and I am simply overjoyed. Head over to EW for some more juicy tidbits.

Check out the official cover of The Rooster Bar by John Grisham.

Mark, Todd, and Zola came to law school to change the world, to make it a better place. But now, as third-year students, these close friends realize they have been duped. They all borrowed heavily to attend a third-tier, for-profit law school so mediocre that its graduates rarely pass the bar exam, let alone get good jobs. And when they learn that their school is one of a chain owned by a shady New York hedge-fund operator who also happens to own a bank specializing in student loans, the three know they have been caught up in The Great Law School Scam.

But maybe there's a way out. Maybe there’s a way to escape their crushing debt, expose the bank and the scam, and make a few bucks in the process. But to do so, they would first have to quit school. And leaving law school a few short months before graduation would be completely crazy, right? Well, yes and no . . .

Official Cover For The Illuminae Files 03: 'Obsidio' By Amie Kaufman And Jay Kristoff Released

The sequel to Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff's Illuminae and Gemina is not coming any sooner than anticipated. Lucky for us we do have here the official cover for Obsidio, the third book in the The Illuminae Files series, to satiate that longing. If you are not still satisfied, you insatiable soul, head over to EW to read some Obsidio excerpts.

In this generation, where almost every story feels repetitive and derivative, some authors try breakout from this stereotypes and bring us something fresh, something just like the authors gave us here in this series - telling the story through redacted official documents, emails, etc.

The books is to be released next year, and this will the longest that we have to wait, considering the previous two books were released one year apart (every October) and this one will have an extra six months to control our wandering and anxious minds. I don't mind the extra months since this is the closing chapter in the series and we all need a satisfying ending!

Check out the cover of The Illuminae Files 03: Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff.
