Samantha Shannon Unveils Official Cover Of 'The Priory Of The Orange Tree' Featuring An Epic Dragon

As a reader you'd think that author Samantha Shannon would only write novels in her The Bone Season universe since she'd only release the third of the seven projected novels. But writers has a lot of ideas that came into their minds and they have to write it all away when inspiration strikes. That is why even if the fans are clamoring to get their hands on the fourth book of The Bone Season series, Shannon went ahead and wrote a novel that has nothing to do with Paige Mahoney and her gang.

The book in question is titled The Priory of the Orange Tree and it is a behemoth of a book with almost 900 pages. The said book has once again been acquired by Bloomsbury Publishing and its epic and gorgeous cover has been recently revealed. You can thank Ivan Belikov for the illustration and David Mann for the design.

Check out the cover of The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon.

A Plethora Of Cover Revelations From 'The Reckoning' By John Grisham To 'Tales of Beedle the Bard' By J.K. Rowling

When it rains it really does pour -- that is true at least for the following books that got their covers revealed just recently. Check out these upcoming releases that I, for one, am really looking forward to.

The Reckoning by John Grisham

The Reckoning by John Grisham

Synopsis

John Grisham returns to Clanton, Mississippi, to tell the story of an unthinkable murder, the bizarre trial that follows it, and its profound and lasting effect on the people of Ford County.

Pete Banning was Clanton's favorite son, a returning war hero, the patriarch of a prominent family, a farmer, father, neighbor, and a faithful member of the Methodist church. Then one cool October morning in 1946. he rose early, drove into town, walked into the Church, and calmly shot and killed the Reverend Dexter Bell. As if the murder wasn't shocking enough, it was even more baffling that Pete's only statement about it—to the sheriff, to his defense attorney, to the judge, to his family and friends, and to the people of Clanton—was "I have nothing to say." And so the murder of the esteemed Reverend Bell became the most mysterious and unforgettable crime Ford County had ever known.

The Reckoning by John Grisham will be released on October 23, 2018.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald - The Original Screenplay by J. K. Rowling

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald - The Original Screenplay by J. K. Rowling

Synopsis

At the end of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald was captured in New York with the help of Newt Scamander. But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escapes custody and sets about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.

In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore enlists Newt, his former Hogwarts student, who agrees to help once again, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.

This second original screenplay from J.K. Rowling, illustrated with stunning line art from MinaLima, expands on earlier events that helped shape the wizarding world, with some surprising nods to the Harry Potter stories that will delight fans of both the books and films.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald - The Original Screenplay by J. K. Rowling will be released on November 16, 2018.

Elevation by Stephen King

Elevation by Stephen King

Synopsis

Set in the fictional town of Castle Rock, Maine

The latest from legendary master storyteller Stephen King, a riveting, extraordinarily eerie, and moving story about a man whose mysterious affliction brings a small town together—a timely, upbeat tale about finding common ground despite deep-rooted differences.

Although Scott Carey doesn’t look any different, he’s been steadily losing weight. There are a couple of other odd things, too. He weighs the same in his clothes and out of them, no matter how heavy they are. Scott doesn’t want to be poked and prodded. He mostly just wants someone else to know, and he trusts Doctor Bob Ellis.

In the small town of Castle Rock, the setting of many of King’s most iconic stories, Scott is engaged in a low grade—but escalating—battle with the lesbians next door whose dog regularly drops his business on Scott’s lawn. One of the women is friendly; the other, cold as ice. Both are trying to launch a new restaurant, but the people of Castle Rock want no part of a gay married couple, and the place is in trouble. When Scott finally understands the prejudices they face–including his own—he tries to help. Unlikely alliances, the annual foot race, and the mystery of Scott’s affliction bring out the best in people who have indulged the worst in themselves and others.

From Stephen King, our “most precious renewable resource, like Shakespeare in the malleability of his work” (The Guardian), Elevation is an antidote to our divisive culture, as gloriously joyful (with a twinge of deep sadness) as “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

Elevation by Stephen King will be released on October 30, 2018.

Tales of Beedle the Bard (US and UK Editions) by J.K. Rowling

US Edition

Tales of Beedle the Bard (US Edition) by J.K. Rowling

Synopsis

The Tales of Beedle the Bard contains five richly imaginative stories of adventure, cunning, heartache, and, of course, magic. They are to the wizarding community what the tales of the Brothers Grimm are to Muggle families.

This lush new illustrated edition has been translated from the ancient runes by Hermione Granger and is presented here with extensive commentary by Albus Dumbledore. And now Hans Christian Andersen Medalist Lisbeth Zwerger interprets these classic tales with beauty and tenderness (and wit), illuminating them for modern readers. With an introduction and notes by J.K. Rowling, this collection will thrill and delight Muggles and wizards alike.

For every sale of this book, Scholastic will donate 15% of the suggested retail price to Lumos, an international nonprofit organization founded by J.K. Rowling that works globally to end the institutionalization of children.wearelumos.org

Tales of Beedle the Bard (US Edition) by J.K. Rowling will be released on October 9, 2018.

UK Edition

Tales of Beedle the Bard (UK Edition) by J.K. Rowling

Synopsis

The dazzlingly brilliant Chris Riddell brings his magical illustration talents to J.K. Rowling's gloriously inventive The Tales of Beedle the Bard in a fully illustrated colour edition of this essential classic for Harry Potter fans. Translated from the runes by Hermione Granger, the volume includes 'The Tale of the Three Brothers', familiar to readers of Harry Potter from the crucial role it played in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Mischievous and witty, these five rollicking tales are a deeply satisfying read in the tradition of all great fables and fairytales. Kindnesses are rewarded and selfishness shown to be the ruin of many a wizard. Burping cauldrons, hairy hearts and cackling stumps are met along the way. Each of the tales is accompanied by a deliciously subversive and insightful commentary by Professor Albus Dumbledore, all brought vividly to life with Riddell's trademark wit and elegance.

Former Waterstones Children's Laureate Chris Riddell is the only illustrator to have won the Kate Greenaway Medal three times, and is brought together here for the first time with one of the world's best loved storytellers in this new edition of J.K. Rowling's fairytale classic.

Much loved by generations of witches and wizards since they first appeared in the fifteenth century, this beautifully illustrated edition is set to become a firm favourite at bedtime in non-magical households the world over.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard is published in aid of Lumos, an international children's charity founded in 2005 by J.K. Rowling.

Tales of Beedle the Bard (UK Edition) by J.K. Rowling will be released on October 2, 2018.

Cover Reveal: New World Rising Series Continues With 'Court Of Wolves' By Robyn Young

Ever since the release of Brethren, a fantastic novel about the Templars, I have been in love with author Robyn Young. The fact that it is hard for me to get a copy of her hardcover books, since I prefer the UK editions, and still be able to get one is a testament of how I love her and her books.

Her latest and third series is called New World Rising and it's a historical fiction at the center of Wars of the Roses. Court of Wolves will be the next book in the line up and it is a direct sequel to Sons of the Blood. It is expected to be released this year, with the official cover and synopsis unveiled just recently.

Court of Wolves by Robyn Young

Synopsis

It is the dawn of a new world.

Henry Tudor has vanquished Richard III and claimed the throne of England, taking possession of a secret map. At the glittering court of the Medici in Florence, Lorenzo the Magnificent, ruler of the republic and head of the mysterious Academy, is engaged in a dangerous game of power with the Vatican. In Spain, the Catholic Monarchs, Isabella and Ferdinand, have declared a crusade against Islam, forcing the Moors from Granada. Europe stands upon the brink of war, at the edge of a discovery that will change everything.

Jack Wynter is clinging to the wreckage of the life he dreamed of living, his father's execution by Richard III destroying his hope of overcoming his status as an illegitimate son. The map entrusted to him by his father is gone, stolen by his hated half-brother, Harry Vaughan. Outlawed by Tudor, all Jack can do is follow his father's last words - and seek out the man who has answers to his past that will determine his future, Lorenzo de' Medici. But in the serpentine politics and renaissance splendour of Florence, he finds only danger. Lorenzo may have trusted Jack's father, but he is now surrounded by threats and conspiracies on all sides - not least from the rising power in the city known as the Court of Wolves.

Harry, meanwhile, heads to the Spanish court on a covert mission for Tudor, who intends to deflect Queen Isabella's interest in developing a trade route west with a sailor named Columbus.

Once again, Jack must risk all to prove himself, while his sworn enemy, Harry, finds himself fighting through Spain, seeking all the time to ingratiate himself with Tudor, and bring his brother down.

Court of Wolves by Robyn Young will be released on August 9, 2018.

There is really no stopping Brandon Sanderson -- the ever prolific author of Elantris, Mistborn series, Reckoners trilogy, Evil Librarians series,  The Stormlight Archive and a lot more. With these numerous titles under his name many more are still coming our way (unlike those other slow poke authors, which by the way I still like). Here are the details of the said upcoming books from Brandon Sanderson.

Cover Reveal: Dark Age (Book 5 Of The Red Rising Saga) By Pierce Brown

Iron Gold's publication may have been quite delayed than originally projected, but author Pierce Brown is making up for it. We will be getting Dark Age, which is the next book of the Red Rising Saga, in less than a year and that means we will be getting two Pierce Brown books this year. And ain't that a nice treat?!

The cover of Dark Age has been released and I am just happy how Faceout Studio and Spencer Fuller, the design team in this series, makes every thing unpredictable. The cover has a golden motif as opposed to my presumed white (I like the color continuity of the first three books in the series), which makes my OCD itch. It also features two baby pitvipers, so if you are quite terrified of snakes, beware...

Check of the cover of Dark Age by Pierce Brown.

Dark Age by Pierce Brown

Synopsis

The #1 New York Times bestselling author of Morning Star returns to the Red Rising universe with the thrilling sequel to Iron Gold.

I know that synopsis is a vague as the day is bright, but here is something from Pierce Brown himself to fix that problem:

"I can honestly say that this has been my favorite of the series to write thus far. There is treason! Death! War! Romance! Destruction! Betrayal! Twists! Turns! Foxes! Space Knights! Duels! Whiskey! Crumbling empire! And a helllll of a jam-packed swervy turvy adrenaline shot of a plot that takes you to the wastes and jungles of Mercury to the tunnels of deep Mars. I can’t wait for you to get your paws on it as soon as possible. (NOW PREORDER IT)— And no, not a soul guessed the cover right. Guess that's because you haven't met the Gorgons yet."

Dark Age will be a little shorter in 480 pages compared to Iron Gold's whooping 601 pages.

Dark Age by Pierce Brown will be released on September 11, 2018.
